IVY NATÉ

Ivy Naté is currently exhibiting an installation at Dylan’s Candy Bar at Hudson Yards, New York, NY. She was invited to be the exclusive artist-in-residence at W New York – Downtown and held a solo show there from December 2018–to March, 2019. Also this year, Ivy has participated in shows at Ivy Brown Gallery and The Plaxall Gallery in New York and University of Virginia Darden School of Business in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Hong Kong-based Van Rensburg Gallery exhibited Naté’s mixed-media piece, Color Installation, in their gallery and featured the work as a special project in the Affordable Art Fairs in New York and Hong Kong in 2017. The piece was awarded “Best in Show” by Bo Concept at Affordable Art Fair, Hong Kong, 2017.

While Ivy Naté’s contemporary art practice is her focal point, she is also an accomplished interior designer and creative entrepreneur. In the 1990s, Naté launched DTUT, a popular café and lounge on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. After selling the café, she launched her second business venture, “Ivy,” a home design boutique in Armonk, New York. She has also been commissioned for interior design projects for residential spaces. Her work on a historic farmhouse was featured Cville Weekly, “Welcome Surprise: In Bundoran, a log cabin comes out of hiding,” by Erika Howsare on September 8, 2016.

In Ivy’s latest special project, she is art director and interior designer for a six-story boutique residential housing development in Charlottesville, VA. Naté oversees all design choices for the building at-large, and is currently working on a semi-private indoor gallery and sculpture garden on the building’s first floor.

Ivy Naté earned a BA in Design and Management from Parsons School of Design, 1992.
